Two Spanish ski resorts, among the ten best "small" resorts in Europe, according to The Guardian
Stations with fewer kilometers of slopes than those in the Alps but with many possibilities for skiers
Port Aine station, in the Lleida PyreneesWith the arrival of the cold, Spain changes the towel for skis and there are many who go up to the peaks to enjoy the ski resorts, which although they are not the ones with the most kilometers in Europe, do meet the conditions to be among the top. The good and well-kept slopes are joined by a first-rate hotel offer and leisure designed for all ages with restaurants, discos, spas, skating rinks or children's activities. A good example of this are the Spanish stations of Port Aine, in the Pyrenees and Sierra Nevada, in Granada, considered by The Guardian as two of the ten best small stations in Europe.
Port Aine, in the Pyrenees of Lleida
The Lleida station of Port Ainelocated in the Pyrenean municipality of Rialp, at an altitude of 2,440 meters, in the Pallars Sobirà region, it has 22 tracks spread over 58 kilometers. About it the publication says that "as with many small Spanish resorts, it is only busy on weekends, so during the week you can enjoy deserted and well-groomed slopes, with lovely off-piste challenges as well." As a strong point, users highlight that it is an inexpensive station. “The prices for food and drinks are very low, and the people are really welcoming. The passes cost 65 euros for two days or just 3 euros for those over 70 years old. Off-piste activities include hotels, apartments and hostels, ski school, equipment rental,
Sierra Nevada, in Granada
Above Granada's Sierra Nevada station , just a couple of hours drive from Malaga or 50 minutes from Granada, the publication describes it as a “small but lively complex, with many bars and restaurants. It is also super cheap compared to the Alps. "Skiing is ideal for beginners and intermediates, not so much for lovers of advanced slopes." The resort has 21 lifts on 131 slopes with a total of 110 skiable kilometers. The station offers a nursery, a snow park, slides or night skiing as well as numerous hotel rooms, restaurants or nightlife venues.
